Welcome to Londam-Holland Blog's new look and platform. For those of you that are discovering the blog for the first time, welcome and hope that you enjoy discovering what Londam-Holland Blog is about. I have been thinking about moving the blog for the longest time now and finally carved out some time to do it. Tumblr has been good to me in the building up of the blog but it is quite limiting. I found Blogspot to be a step up with a great community and it wasn't rocket science to operate. I definately think that this is the first step to building the brand in the way that I envision in my mind, so I am happy to share this part of the journey with you. It's quite fitting that as the blog is going through transistion, the season is also changing. Since living in Johannesburg, I have come to appreciate Autumn, this city has the best autumn period. It's so movie-like with the golden hues in the leaves and avenues upon avenues of trees, almost reminiscent of New York's Central Park. So in good "blog fashion" I have a great lookpost for you as a 'house warming present"...if you will. I teamed up with Tegan again while she was in Johannesburg this past month to create a cosy, winter lookpost. We shot in Saxonwold, a stunning area of the city that feels so warm and ethereal to me. I have driven past this street for months now, bookmarking it as my next shoot location, so when Tegan announced that she was coming up...well it was the obvious choice.Winter has to be one of my favourite seasons, besides it being my birth month and that I have a slight negative reaction to overheating, it seems like the world goes quiet. Quiet to reflect, to cuddle up with loved ones, to nurse drained bodies or build a new one entirely. Winter to me is also about layering 101. It makes dressing up so much fun as you can play around with different textures, lines and colours. For this look, I created a look that sophisticated and also warm. I wanted to give the feeling of a mysterious stylish woman taking a stroll on a chilly day, "all dressed up and nowhere to go" or she's meeting up with a friend for coffee...you kinda don't know but she's intriguing in her serenity. This look can go from day to night as you peel the layers off to reveal a classic midi-length pencil dress, perfect for after work drinks or dinner. The waterfall jersey cover up (that I keep jacking form my sister's closet) is such a lifesaver for those in-between days, when its not jaw-shatteringly cold but its not the warmest either. It doubles up as a cover up and blanket when thrown over the shoulders. I am yet to use this bag as my daily bag but just had to give it some face-time as it is such a statement. It also helped to lift an otherwise monotonous outfit.I love the feel of this look and Tegan's choice of lighting is again a winner...I hope you enjoy this lookpost and see you in my next one.
