Print-on-Print

This past weekend, I attended the Wknd Social for the first time and what better theme for a first-timer than “Print-on-Print”.  Some would say “yay”, others would shudder at the thought of  being a “Chu: prince of prints” for a day but I was intrigued by what print chaos I could think up.

I usually keep my closet to a print minimum but this event called for a serious rummage.  The thought of wearing prints is actually quite terrifying as nothing says bold quite like them and sometimes standing out from the crowd goes against our human nature to fit in. To be honest I considered changing into simple black or throwing a coat over the print just to feel “normal”.  But I guess that is what fashion is there for, to allow you to be crazy and look opulent without much judgement apart from… “well that person is a risk-taker”.  Who doesn’t want to be a risk-taker?!

For this look post I wanted to create a gradual fade into colour to give the effect of what print can do for your wardrobe and also to show the beauty of print even when in just black and white.

Sometimes, you gotta be bold in life, whether it be by means of fashion or action…take the splunge.  Who knows, you might get a compliment or two.
