Queen of Cool

With the new year well underway, with it always brings a burst of freshness and the need for new beginnings.  As I mentioned in my previous post I promised to reveal which city I relocated to and I am officially a “Joburg girl” now.  Yes, the big bright lights of Johannesburg, I never thought that I would end up living here as I love living by the coast and Cape Town is more my swing.  But, I welcome the challenge, growth and opportunity with open arms.  I must admit that the energy of Johannesburg is electric and I have definitely been inspired in my few days here. 

To celebrate my new city, I decided to style up an easy, cool outfit.  I am still on holiday so being comfortably stylish is a must.  Denim is a fashion basic and the ultimate item of cool.    I love pairing mine up with long oversized tops tucked into a men’s belt.  Every girl should own a great pair of skinnies, which flatter the lower leg and any shoe, whether it be a flat or a sky high heel.  If you are not a skinny jeans fan, then this look can also be worn with boyfriend jeans.  With flats, I love rolling up jeans for a relaxed parisienne look but always remember to fold up twice, anything more than that makes the roll bulky and unflattering. 

To add some rocker to this look, some arm accessories are a must. I went with these black and gold ones that are really quirky and bold statements.  This outfit really goes from day to night, which I love!  I went to a dinner party in the evening and just popped on a leather biker jacket to make the look more smart casual. Add some heels if you want to be more glam and you are good to go!
