Alil Chanel, Alil Lagerfeld, Alil Dolce

Despite my outfit containing none of these powerful brands, it was the only way I could describe my mood inspiration for this style.  I was feeling rather monochromatic but elegant and wanted to try something a little different.  My make-up for this look is bold even though it is rather muted.  I chose to focus on the eyes as the showstopper and leave a very nude lip; so nude that all they have on them is some lip balm.

The base eye shadow is a shimmery white from Elizabeth Arden called “Moon Beam”.  This is swept over the whole eye lid and I find that it makes the eyes really pop.  I used a black kohl eye pencil to outline the eye, starting at mid top lid and sweeping out to the corners of the eyes, creating a smudged bat-wing formation.  Add a generous coat of black mascara and a little bit of the white eye shadow on the inner corners of the eyes to highlight.

For this look, I decided to fill in my eyebrows and make them darker.  I have never been a fan of eyebrow filling in the past but if done subtly, it can look really “dolce”.  Always remember to keep to the natural shape of the brow and use little strokes, like you are drawing individual hairs rather than drawing solid long lines then colouring in the brows. For my hair, I kept it sleek but edgy with a side parting and curled side swept bang.   The outfit I kept strictly black, white and Chanel-esque with black leggings and a crisp white buttoned up shirt.

Fashion is all about experimenting and challenging your degree of self expression.  I loved how this look turned out and plan to rock my dark brows on another dramatic occasion.  Be inspired, channel your favourite looks and enjoy using fashion to tell your story.
