Spirit Is the New Black

“Spirit is the New Black” by The Dirty Skirts inspired this edgy all black outfit.  On this day, I felt like a samurai desert sheik mixed with the swag of a rock star drenched in gold.  Sounds like a lot to feel in one day but this fierce song by The Dirty Skirts is just that.  I first heard this song as part of a freebie summer cd attached to my Fairlady magazine about 5 years ago and its effect has stayed with me until now.   It’s a beautiful indie rock track with this awesome reference to fashion “spirit is the new black”, black being the epitome of timeless style. So be happy because being spirited is in!!   I unfortunately misplaced this cd during my house move and there does not seem to be another copy at the moment, which makes me so sad! but I would like to share this track with you as soon as I get it.
